Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow: Growing for Locks of Love
We have some outstanding Kelley team members. Day in and day out, they’re here to serve our partners with strategic business solutions to help them succeed. And they also give back to others in amazing ways.
Kelley Create’s Practice Leader – Microsoft 365 & Azur, Tony Robison, can do many things very well. One of them is growing hair. Tony shares his story of why he donates to Locks of Love:
“I started growing my hair long when I was about 26 in a misguided attempt to be cool. It turns out I am good at growing hair but not so keen on the responsibility of having long hair. After a few years, I got annoyed. Long hair is sweaty, takes a long time to shampoo, and gets everywhere around the house and drains. I happened to be in a mall where they were giving free haircuts if you would donate your hair to Locks of Love. And it was kismet! I got my hair cut (poorly) for free and felt that I was helping someone who needed a wig. I am a big believer in leveraging your strengths, and since I am a pro at growing hair, I figured I would use my power for good and grow my hair to donate it from that point on. I’ve been growing my hair out and donating it about every two years (you must grow an 8–10-inch ponytail to donate), making this last cut my 10th hair donation.”
You are a cut above, Tony! You make us all #kelleyproud.
